PRIVATE HOUSES
Here at The Location Scouts, we are always looking for new and exciting locations, particularly private houses. In Film and TV, every brief is different and so there is no specific thing we are looking for.
We have briefs for 20's semis, 50's bungalows and the odd country estate, it really could be anything, hence why you have received one of our flyers through your letterbox.
Additional Income
As a source of additional income, there are few better options than hosting film crews in your property.
The fees can be high and often the process is relatively quick and painless.
If it's a second home, it's a useful way of offsetting the double council tax and running costs whilst you are not there.
BUSINESSES
Some of the highest earners in the location hosting game are businesses who have empty premises. These sites, be they factories, pubs, warehouses or disused office blocks are regular hires in our industry and so we are always on the look out for more. Equally, allowing film crews into a functioning business at the weekend or overnight can also earn well.
Disused Buildings
As a temporary use for a vacant building, filming can be extremely useful.
It can make an empty site almost entirely cost neutral, with revenue covering running costs including security, utilities and insurance.
Filming can also cover the business rates of an empty property, or trigger rates holidays of up to six months for industrial sites.
In an working building, it can generate additional income at the weekend or even overnight.
